Ben graduated from the University of Waikato in 2012, with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in both Ethics and Political Science. Ben also holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Auckland, specialising in Corporate and Commercial Law with a particular focus on cross-border insurance disputes.
Prior to joining Rainey Law in 2017, Ben spent a number of years working in the tertiary education sector. Initially, Ben worked as a professional advocate providing advice and services to a diverse body of students.
Later, Ben spent 3 years as in-house legal counsel for one of New Zealand’s largest polytechnics, where he gained broad commercial experience, advised on the institute’s general legislative compliance obligations and provided pragmatic legal advice on a wide range of issues including contract disputes, commercial property matters, privacy and human rights complaints.
Ben brings this varied experience to Rainey Law, where he aspires to broaden his experience in all forms of dispute resolution and to develop his skills as a litigator.
